Sanders Winner of NJCAA Division I Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award

SILVIS, Ill. – Ricky Sanders of Indian Hills claimed the NJCAA Division I Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award for earning medalist honors at the NJCAA Division I National Championships. By claiming the Arnold Palmer Award, Sanders is also added to the PING All-America First Team.

With an opening round 2-under 70, Sanders was tied for second and one shot back. He stayed one stroke off the lead and tied for second following the second round despite shooting 1-over. Even par in round three kept him in the same position. Sanders got off to a hot start in the final round with birdie on three of his first four holes. He pulled away from the field when he birdied No. 9 to move to 5-under. Sanders gave back two shots on the back nine but still managed a four-stroke victory. 

The win was Sanders third of the season.
