NJCAA DII Dave Williams National Coach of the Year Finalists presented by Golf Pride Grips Named
Norman, Oklahoma - NJCAA Division II finalists for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips have been announced by the GCAA. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NJCAA Division II men’s golf.
The six finalists are Bill Campbell of Southeast CC, Copiah-Lincoln CC’s Ronny Ross, Al Smith of Murray State (OK), Tyler JC’s Sandy Terry and Andy Walker of South Mountain CC. If a team wins the NJCAA National Championship and its coach was not previously named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award that coach will be added for coach of the year consideration.
Campbell has led Southeast CC to six victories on the season, including at the NJCAA Region IX Championship.
Copiah-Lincoln CC, led by Ross, finished the regular season ranked fourth in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Wolfpack have three wins on the season, including at the NJCAA District D Championship.
Smith has led the Aggies to two team wins this season, most recently at the Midwest Spring Fling. They were also runners-up at the NJCAA District F Championship.
Tyler JC, led by Terry, have six victories on the season, including at the NJCAA District F Championship earlier this month. The Apaches finished the regular season atop the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.
The Walker-led Cougars recently were victorious at the NJCAA Division II Region 1 Championship, their fifth team win on the season.
