Finalists Announced for NJCAA Division II Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips

PLYMOUTH, Ind. – NJCAA Division II finalists for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips have been announced by the GCAA. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NJCAA Division II men’s golf.

The five finalists are Darin Pint of Kirkwood, South Mountain’s Aaron Puetz, Corbin Sebens of Parkland, Tommy Snell of Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Al Smith of Murray State (OK). If a team wins the NJCAA National Championship and its coach was not previously named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award that coach will be added for coach of the year consideration.

Pint was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year award after leading Kirkwood to the Region XI Championship. The Eagles won seven times this season.

South Mountain has won or tied for the team crown in all 11 tournaments it competed in this season. The one tournament the Cougars did not win outright contained a field primarily of four-year institutions.

Sebens was named Region 24 Coach of the Year. The Cobras claimed three team victories during the 2018-19 campaign. Parkland did not finish outside the top four in nine events.

The reigning Williams Award recipient, Snell has led Mississippi Gulf Coast to nine victories. In the two tournaments they did not win the Bulldogs finished second and third.

Smith led Murray State to the NJCAA District F Championship. The Aggies were also runner-up twice. Murray State did not finish outside the top six in nine events.
